Format: G/30, 5 rounds, Swiss system for pairings

- Grade 6 OPEN 

 

Ties for first will be considered co-champions; however, there will be a 5-minute speed chess playoff to determine which of the top players receives the $500 scholarship (OPEN categories only) to assist them in going to Nationals. If the first place finisher this way decides not to attend nationals, then the scholarship will go to the next person in line and so on.

 

Team trophies will be determined by the top 5 scores:

- Grades K-3 combined top 5 scores

- Grades 4-6 combined top 5 scores

 

Trophies to all 3+ point scores.

 

Every participant will receive an award for completing the event. 

 

Sixth graders will be given the option to play with their previous year's elementary school team or to play for his/her current Middle School Team.
